Future Mobility Campus Ireland (FMCI) is a company that has been established to create a space for organisations to research, develop and test innovative mobility solutions. FMCI has created a “lab” type environment within the Shannon Free Zone that will be accessible to organisations testing new methods of autonomous transport.

Purpose of this Privacy Notice?

This privacy notice aims to give you information on how the FMCI collects and processes your personal data. Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

 

It is important that you read this Privacy Notice together with any other privacy notice or fair processing notice we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal data about you so that you are fully aware of how and why we are using your data. This privacy notice supplements the other notices and is not intended to override them.

 

Future Mobility Campus Ireland is the data controller and is responsible for your personal data (referred to as FMCI, “we”, “us” or “our” in this privacy notice).

We have appointed a Data Protection Officer who is responsible for overseeing questions in relation to this privacy notice. 2. THE PERSONAL DATA WE PROCESS
Whose Personal Data We Collect and How We Collect It?

FMCI collects, uses, stores and otherwise processes personal data where necessary to provide a service which you request, where necessary to comply with a legal obligation, and where necessary pursuant to FMCI’s legitimate interests and where these interests are not overridden by your data protection rights. FMCI may also process your personal data where you have given consent or provided your “opt-in”. Where FMCI asks for consent, you are free to withhold or revoke it by contacting the Data Protection Officer at [email protected].

 

FMCI undertakes to respect the privacy while processing the personal data of the following data subjects:

  • All users of our website;
  • All employees and contractors and job applicants;
  • Business contacts, retailers, manufacturers, and suppliers; and
  • Customers or prospective customers of FMCI.

 

In the course of our business, FMCI may collect personal data about you from the following sources:

  • From our video recording equipment (please see FMCI’s CCTV Policy and FMCI’s Testbed Recording System Policy for further information).

Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

                            

We do not currently process any special categories of personal data. FMCI uses the personal data we collect to assist us in providing products or services to you, to our clients, to provide you with information about those products or for other legitimate business purposes.

 

FMCI does not seek to determine your identity when you simply browse our site, however, if you provide FMCI with your contact information, such as by completing an online form or providing information in a job application, FMCI will know your identity.

 

We may analyse your personal information by automated means for the purposes of market research, analysing our customer database and for our marketing activities.

Who Might We Share This Information With?

How Long Do We Keep Hold of Your Information?​

The retention periods for personal data held by FMCI are based on the requirements of the data protection legislation and on the purpose for which the personal data is collected and processed. Data will not be held for longer than is necessary for the purpose(s) for which it was obtained. This means that the period of time for which we store your personal data may depend on the type of data we hold. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements. We assess our retention periods from time to time to ensure that we meet your expectations.

 

The retention periods applied by FMCI to personal data which it processes are also, in certain circumstances, based on legal and regulatory requirements to retain information for a specified period and on the relevant limitation periods for taking legal action.

Transfer of Your Information Outside The EU or The EEA?

FMCI may need to store and process your personal data in a non- European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) country where our service providers are located. We may be required to send personal data to recipients in countries other than the country in which it is collected, including to the US.

 

Where these non-EEA countries have different data protection laws, FMCI will take measures to ensure your personal data remains protected. These transfers are subject to an EU adequacy decision or in the absence of an adequacy decision, subject to Standard Contractual Clauses to provide an adequate level of protection under applicable data protection law. Data Processor Agreements are in place with our service providers and are designed to help safeguard your privacy rights.

3. WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS WITH RESPECT TO YOUR INFORMATION

You have the following rights:

  • The right to access the information we hold about you.
  • The right to require us to rectify any inaccurate information about you without undue delay.
  • The right to have us erase any information we hold about you in circumstances such as where it is no longer necessary for us to hold the information for your use of our services or if you have withdrawn your consent to the processing.
  • The right to object to us processing information about you such as processing for profiling or direct marketing.
  • The right to ask us to provide your information to you in a portable format or, where technically feasible, for us to port that information to another provider provided it does not result in a disclosure of information relating to other people.
  • The right to request a restriction of the processing of your information.
  • Where our processing of your information is based on your consent to that processing, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time but any processing that we have carried out before you withdrew your consent remains lawful.
