Organized by Startup Grind Limerick in collaboration with FMCI, the event brought together industry leaders, startups, students and enthusiasts to explore the future of transportation.

A standout feature of the event was the deep dive into accident prevention technology, with a particular focus on how Provizio is pioneering in this space via the development of 5D Radar technology. Barry Lunn, CEO of Provizio, shared success stories and insights into his own previous experiences. Attendees gained valuable perspectives on the role of technology in enhancing safety on the roads.

Ambitions of Advanced Air Mobility in Shannon and Ireland
Julie Garland, Founder and CEO of Avtrain, shared ambitious visions for advanced air mobility (AAM) and positioned the Irish ecosystem as an ideal location for such groundbreaking endeavors. Her insights showed the potential for Ireland to become a hub for AAM, showcasing the country’s commitment to pioneering the future of aerial transportation. ÉALÚ-AER project was brought as a concrete example of innovative projects in the region.
The ÉALÚ-AER project, coordinated by Wassim from FMCI, focuses on advancing drone capabilities by implementing U-space services in Shannon. This collaborative effort is a testament to the commitment of the project partners such as FMCI, The Shannon Airport Group and Avtrain to push the boundaries of air mobility and shape the future of unmanned aerial systems in Shannon.

ÉALÚ-AER is one of the first European Digital Sky Demonstrators to focus on U-space and Urban Air Mobility as part of the European ATM Master Plan designed by the SESAR Joint Undertaking (JU). SESAR JU aims at accelerating through research and innovation the delivery of an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Digital European Sky.
Digital Sky Demonstrators, such as ÉALÚ-AER, are high-level Technology Readiness Level (TRL 7-8) projects that are funded in collaboration with the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) under the Connected Europe Facility (CEF) funding instrument.
ÉALÚ-AER partners include: FMCI (cooridnator), Collins Aerospace, The Shannon Airport Group, Avtrain, DeepBlue, Manna, AirNav Ireland and Spright.
